1. About these terms

1.1 These terms apply when you enrol on the Active IQ Level 3 Award in Adapting Physical Activity for Antenatal and Postnatal Clients (Ofqual qualification number 610/5187/1) ("the qualification" or "the course") with The Hertfordshire School of Pilates ("HSP", "we", "us"). HSP is a trading name of The Pilates Corner Ltd, 15A October House, Baldock Industrial Estate, Baldock SG7 6NG.

1.2 By enrolling and paying, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.

1.3 HSP is an approved centre of Active IQ, the awarding organisation for the qualification. Active IQ's own rules for learners and centres also apply to you.

2. The course

2.1 The course is delivered fully online and is self-paced. There are no live lessons. Learning is delivered on the HSP learning portal and includes written lessons, videos, practice knowledge checks and the portfolio assignments.

2.2 The qualification has 35 guided learning hours. We suggest you allow 8 to 12 weeks to complete it. This is a guide only. You can go faster or slower within your access period.

2.3 You can enrol at any time. There are no fixed start dates or cohorts. Modules unlock in order.

2.4 Your tutor and assessor is Emma Lovelock. The internal quality assurer is Sarah Lane.

2.5 You are given access to the course content after your onboarding call (see sections 3 and 5).

3. Who can enrol

3.1 You must be at least 16 years old.

3.2 You must be a qualified Pilates instructor. A Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification is accepted as the entry requirement.

3.3 You must upload proof of your qualification when you enrol. We may ask for further evidence.

3.4 You must attend an onboarding call with us before you are given access to the course content. We use the call to check that you meet the entry requirement and that the course is right for you.

3.5 If you decide you don't want to go ahead, or if we find that you don't meet the entry requirement or that the course isn't suitable for you, this must be said before the end of your onboarding call. Section 5 explains what happens next.

3.6 You are responsible for making sure your own insurance and professional membership are in place if you go on to work with antenatal and postnatal clients.

3.7 You should be able to read, write and communicate at a level suitable for a Level 3 qualification. Please contact us before enrolling if you need reasonable adjustments (see section 11).

4. Fees and payment

4.1 The course fee is £395 plus VAT.

4.2 The fee includes access to the course, tutor support, marking and feedback, your registration with Active IQ and your certificate. There is no separate registration fee.

4.3 The course fee must be paid in full when you enrol. We don't offer instalment plans for this course.

4.4 Extension fees are set out in section 6.

4.5 We may change our prices from time to time. Any change will not affect a course you have already paid for.

5. Cancelling and refunds

5.1 You are given access to the course content after your onboarding call. Until then, you have not accessed the course content.

5.2 If you don't want to go ahead with the course, you must tell us before the end of your onboarding call. If we find that you don't meet the entry requirement or that the course isn't suitable for you, we will tell you before the end of the call.

5.3 If the course is cancelled for either reason before you have been given access to the course content, we will refund the course fee, minus an administration fee of £50. We will pay the refund within 14 days, using the payment method you used.

5.4 Once you have been given access to the course content, the course fee is non-refundable.

5.5 If you are a consumer, you also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of enrolling, without giving a reason. Because the course is digital content, you agree that your access will start after your onboarding call, and you acknowledge that you lose this right once you have been given access and have started using the course. If you cancel under this legal right before you have been given access, we will refund everything you have paid, and the £50 administration fee will not apply.

5.6 To cancel, email info@thehertfordshireschoolofpilates.co.uk with your name and the date you enrolled.

5.7 If you aren't a consumer, for example you are enrolling through a business, the legal right to cancel in clause 5.5 may not apply. Please contact us if you are unsure.

6. Access period and extensions

6.1 You have 12 months' access to the course from your enrolment date.

6.2 If you haven't completed the qualification by then, you can buy an extension. Each extension costs £35 and gives you a further 6 months to access the course materials, complete the qualification and have your work marked.

6.3 You can buy up to four extensions. Your registration with Active IQ lasts three years, so access ends three years after your enrolment date at the latest, whether or not you have completed the qualification.

6.4 Work submitted after your access has ended will not be marked unless you buy an extension that covers the date it was submitted.

6.5 Extension fees are not refundable.

6.6 If your access ends without you achieving the qualification, your registration with Active IQ will lapse. If you want to continue, you will need to speak to us about a new registration and a new fee may apply.

6.7 Your access is personal to you. You must not share your login, or the course materials, with anyone else.

7. Support

7.1 You can contact us by email, using the support forms on the portal, by text, or by booking a support call.

7.2 We reply to emails and texts within 24 hours. We mark assignments and return feedback within three weeks (see clause 8.3).

7.3 You must attend an onboarding call before you start the course. There is a mid-course check-in call after Module 6. These calls are part of your support and are included in the course fee.

7.4 Support covers the course and the assessment. We can't give legal, medical or business advice.

8. Assessment and certification

8.1 The qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence. Your work will be marked against Active IQ's assessment criteria. The result is Achieved or Not yet achieved.

8.2 To achieve a question, every required point must be present and accurate. If something is missing, we will tell you what to add in your written feedback.

8.3 We return feedback within three weeks of receiving your work. This may take longer in holiday periods, and we will tell you if so.

8.4 You can resubmit work that isn't yet achieved as many times as you need within your access period. You only need to resubmit the questions that aren't yet achieved. There is no charge for resubmission.

8.5 The module knowledge checks are for practice. They are not part of your portfolio.

8.6 Your assessment decisions may be sampled by our internal quality assurer and by Active IQ's external quality assurer. Your work may be shared with them for this reason. A call with you may be recorded for quality assurance.

8.7 Assessment is based on theoretical clients. You must not submit information about real clients as part of your portfolio.

8.8 Your session plans must be for a type of session that is within your scope of practice.

8.9 Once all your work is marked as achieved, you will sign a declaration and your assessor will countersign it. Our internal quality assurer then reviews your assessment decisions, and your certificate will only be claimed once she has confirmed them. If she does not uphold a decision, we will tell you what needs to change, and you may be asked to resubmit work. Once your results are confirmed, we claim your certificate from Active IQ. Certificates are issued by Active IQ and the timing depends on their processes.

8.10 We can't guarantee that you will achieve the qualification. Achievement depends on your work meeting the standard.

9. Your own work and malpractice

9.1 All work you submit must be your own. You will be asked to sign a declaration to this effect.

9.2 Copying from another person, from a website, from the course materials, or from AI-generated text, and presenting it as your own, is malpractice. So is allowing someone else to complete work for you, and sharing your answers.

9.3 If we suspect malpractice, we will investigate. If it is confirmed, we may refuse to accept the work, cancel your enrolment without a refund and report it to Active IQ. Active IQ may take further action, including withholding or withdrawing certificates.

10. Complaints and appeals

10.1 If you are unhappy with any part of the course, please contact us first so that we can try to put it right.

10.2 If you disagree with an assessment decision, you can appeal. Please email us within 5 working days of receiving your result, explaining your concerns. Our Appeals Procedure has four stages and ends with the right to escalate to Active IQ. You can read it here.

10.3 You can read our full Complaints Policy.

11. Reasonable adjustments and equality

11.1 We want the course to be accessible. If you have a disability, a learning difference, or any other need that might affect how you learn or are assessed, please tell us before you start or as soon as you can, so that we can talk about reasonable adjustments. Adjustments must not change the standard of the qualification.

11.2 We treat all learners fairly and with respect. We expect the same from you in all your contact with us.

12. Scope of the course and professional responsibility

12.1 The course prepares you to adapt physical activity for antenatal clients with uncomplicated pregnancies, and postnatal clients without signs of abdominal wall or pelvic floor dysfunction.

12.2 The course doesn't qualify you to diagnose, treat or rehabilitate medical conditions, or to work with clients outside this scope. You remain responsible for working within your own scope of practice, insurance and professional standards.

12.3 The information in the course is for education. It isn't medical advice and shouldn't replace the advice of a client's midwife, doctor or other healthcare professional.

13. Copyright and use of materials

13.1 The course content, videos and documents created by HSP belong to The Pilates Corner Ltd. The Active IQ workbook, assignments and client profiles belong to Active IQ.

13.2 You may use the materials for your own study. You must not copy, share, record, resell or publish them, or use them to teach other people, without our written permission.

14. Your data

14.1 We collect your name, contact details, proof of qualification, learning records and assessment work. We use these to run the course, assess your work, claim your certificate, and contact you about your learning.

14.2 We share your details with Active IQ for registration, quality assurance and certification, and with our systems providers who support the course and payments. We don't sell your data.

14.3 We keep your assessment records for the period required by Active IQ. After that, they are securely deleted.

14.4 You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, and object to our using it, by emailing us. Our Privacy Policy gives full details.

14.5 You must not upload any personal information about real clients.

15. Changes to the course or qualification

15.1 Active IQ may change or withdraw the qualification, or change its assessment requirements. If this happens, we will tell you and do everything we reasonably can to help you complete it. We may need to update the course or ask you to resubmit some work.

15.2 We may make small changes to the course, such as updating content or fixing errors, at any time. If the change is significant, we will tell you.

15.3 If we can't deliver the course, we will refund any fees you have paid for the period we couldn't provide.

16. Our responsibility to you

16.1 We will deliver the course with reasonable care and skill.

16.2 We aren't responsible for any loss that wasn't a reasonably foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, for loss of income or business, or for technical problems outside our control, such as interruptions to your internet or to third-party platforms.

16.3 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

17. General

17.1 If we need to contact you, we will use the email address or phone number you gave us. Please keep your details up to date.

17.2 If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest will still apply.

17.3 We may update these terms. The version in force when you enrol applies to you, unless a change is needed to meet the law or Active IQ's requirements.

17.4 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
