Talk to Emma - it's freeMums returning to work, empty nesters, or redundancy prompting a rethink. You're ready to build something that's genuinely yours - a career you'll love getting up for.
You're already attending Pilates and love it. You want the qualification to teach it on your own schedule - to supplement your income or eventually replace it entirely.
Sporty, into movement, and looking for a flexible way to earn independently. The training fits around studies and gives you full control of when and how much you work.
Hear from Emma
After training and assessing over 340 students through a national provider, Emma saw exactly where traditional Pilates teacher training falls short - huge cohorts, inconsistent tutors, and graduates left to figure out the business side on their own.
The Hertfordshire School of Pilates was built differently, from the ground up.
How it works
The course runs over approximately 5 months, combining around 200 hours of online learning with three in-person workshop days and a practical assessment - all held at The Pilates Corner, Baldock.
Fully accredited by Active IQ (Ofqual-regulated). Small groups of 6-8 students. Weekend workshops only - designed to fit around your existing commitments.
Hands-on teaching experience
One of the things that sets HSP apart from every other Level 3 Mat Pilates instructor training programme is the opportunity to teach real clients before you qualify.
Just like a trainee hairdresser works with real clients in a salon, HSP students have the option to lead live student Pilates classes at The Pilates Corner - with real members, in a real studio. This is entirely optional, but the benefits are significant.
Unlike many Level 3 Pilates courses, there is no minimum number of practice teaching hours required at HSP. We trust our students to prepare at the level that feels right for them - no obligation, no hour-logging, no pressure to find willing participants on your own.
But for those who want the experience of teaching a real group class before assessment day, the opportunity is there. Teaching genuine clients - managing mixed abilities, adapting cues in the moment, reading a real room - is something no amount of practising on friends can fully replicate.
No minimum hours. No extra cost. Practice teaching with real clients is available at no additional charge - entirely on your terms. An advantage that comes with training at a real, working studio. No other Pilates instructor training provider in Hertfordshire offers this.
Practice teaching opportunities are subject to availability and are not guaranteed as part of the course. They are offered as an optional additional benefit where studio scheduling allows.
Most Level 3 Pilates courses require students to log 90+ hours of practice teaching independently. HSP has no such requirement - no hour-logging, no scrambling to find participants. You are trusted to prepare at the level that is right for you.
For trainee Pilates instructors who want hands-on teaching experience before assessment, The Pilates Corner offers the chance to teach a live group class to genuine studio members. Practical Pilates training in a real studio environment - not a hired hall.
Teaching a mixed ability group class - reading the room, adapting cues in the moment, managing real client needs - builds the class management and teaching confidence that no practice run can replicate. Unique to studio-based Pilates training at HSP.
This real-world Pilates teaching experience is available at no additional charge. No other Pilates instructor training provider in Hertfordshire offers this opportunity as part of the course. An advantage, not a requirement.
