Hear from Emma
After training and assessing over 340 students through a national provider, Emma saw exactly where traditional Pilates teacher training falls short - huge cohorts, inconsistent tutors, and graduates left to figure out the business side on their own.
The Hertfordshire School of Pilates was built differently, from the ground up.
How the course works
The course runs over approximately 5 months from first workshop to assessment, combining structured online learning with in-person practical training in Baldock.
You get access to a structured learning portal a month before your first practical workshop covering Pilates principles & history, functional anatomy, posture and movement analysis, exercise programming, and teaching cues. Expect around 200 hours of online and written study in total across the whole qualification.
Your first in-person weekend at The Pilates Corner. Hands-on learning covering the fundamentals of teaching: cues, class structure, exercise programming, regressions, progressions, and client safety. After this weekend, you're encouraged to start teaching friends and family to build confidence.
The second in-person session, building on what you've learned. Focus shifts to mixed-ability programming, client scenarios, and developing your teaching identity. More online learning runs alongside this stage.
You complete your portfolio and remaining online modules at your own pace, with full access to learning resources and support throughout. There's no minimum number of practical hours required - you're trusted to prepare at the level you feel confident.
Your final in-person session at The Pilates Corner. A practical assessment alongside your completed portfolio. Pass this and you're a qualified Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor.
The course is accredited by a leading industry awarding body, one of the UK's leading awarding bodies - the same organisation that accredits Future Fit's Pilates qualification.
All in-person sessions are held at The Pilates Corner, Baldock SG7 6NG - a real, award-winning working studio with excellent rail links from London King's Cross.
Maximum 6-8 students per cohort. Small enough for genuinely personalised support, feedback, and a learning environment where you're not just a number.
Around 200 hours of online and written study, plus 3 in-person workshop days and a half-day assessment. Designed to work around existing jobs and commitments.
